Independent Stave Company and The Boswell Family donated $250,000 to the Alzheimer’s Association to fully fund two Alzheimer’s Association Research Grants (AARG) awarded to Celeste Karch and Thomas Brett of Washington University in St. Louis.
LEXINGTON, Ky., (Feb. 27, 2020) — Independent Stave Company and the Boswell Family are giving $1 million to the University of Kentucky to further spirits research at the James B. Beam Institute for Kentucky Spirits. The gift will fund a maturation facility that will allow the Beam Institute to experiment with barrel aging spirits produced in its research distillery.

Cooperages 1912 and the Boswell Family recently announced a $250,000 donation to Cal Poly’s new JUSTIN and J. LOHR Center for Wine and Viticulture.
“We have historically supported the education of Cal Poly students by donating barrels as well as consulting on barrel experiments with our Director of Research, David Llodra. For the past two years, Morehead Wood Products has been funding grants for classroom teachers through its program called ISCO Cares, a charitable giving program established by Independent Stave Company.
Independent Stave Company’s Missouri Cooperage was honored to receive the 2018 President’s Award from the Lebanon Area Chamber of Commerce in Lebanon, MO.
Morehead Wood Products presented a check to the Peoples Clinic for $1,500 on Sept. 13, 2018, at the stave mill.
In late September Missouri Cooperage recently utilized their ISCO Cares funds to donate $1,000 to Ezard Elementary School in Conway.
The Benton Wood Products team and ISCO Cares donated $10,000 to the Marshall County Exceptional Center.
