Independent Stave Company Expands Land
Assistance Program into Missouri, Appoints New Forester

Columbia, MO (July 14, 2025) - Independent Stave Company (ISCO) is expanding its Land Assistance Program into Missouri and has hired Ren Steevens as the state’s new forester. Steevens, a graduate of the University of Missouri with a degree in Natural Resource Management and an emphasis in Forestry, will lead outreach and support for Missouri forestland owners.

As part of ISCO’s growing sustainability initiatives, the Land Assistance Program offers technical guidance and administrative support to landowners who wish to enhance their forests. In Missouri, Steevens will assist with land inventory assessments, develop customized forest management plans, and help landowners navigate enrollment in sustainability certification programs such as the American Tree Farm Program.

“The Land Assistance Program reflects our long-term commitment to forest health and sustainability,” said Brad Boswell, CEO of Independent Stave Company. “We believe education and outreach through land and process certification is one of the most effective and manageable solutions to achieve sustainability.”

ISCO partners with landowners, loggers, and conservation organizations to ensure thriving French and American oak forests for future generations. The Land Assistance Program is currently available in both Missouri and Kentucky.
